Raynesway Resource Park (or RRP as it is referred to below) is a proposal to develop a sustainable business that produces renewable energy, increases recycling, reduces landfill as well as the creation of new engineering and process jobs.
The RRP will be the first occupier on the 115 acre £175M Derby Commercial Park currently being developed by Goodman adjacent to the Celanese Plant in Spondon. The Commercial Park development is scheduled to attract 3000 new jobs through the development of over 2 Million square feet of buildings. The site was identified as suitable for the development of a Resource Park after a significant land search in the East Midlands. The RRP will be able to provide renewable and low carbon heat, cooling and power to occupiers on the development as well as providing much needed recycling and landfill avoidance for the commercial businesses. The facility will also be able to offer a non landfill alternative to many other organisations in Derby with the scale of the operation sized to be of benefit to the wider Derby business community. After initial site identification the company undertook a scoping study to ensure that its planning application would cover all issues deemed necessary. On Friday 29th May 2009 a planning application and accompanying Environmental Statement was submitted to the Derby City Council.
This website has been designed to provide information on the proposal and seek comment and involvement from the local community. Visitors to the website are able to get information explaining what the development will entail, why the site was chosen, how it will benefit Derby, and what it will look like.
Finally there is a section where questions can be asked and you can sign up for information as the application progresses
